Let’s get personal. Here are a few fun facts about Jennifer Beale, the main sublimation, technical guide writer for AtoZofSublimation.com:

- I am an Air Force Veteran and proudly served during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm era.
- I have a successful sublimation business that I run as a side-hustle. This started as a hobby several years ago and it grew into a side business.
- I also have a full time job on top of my sublimation business.
- I own several sublimation printers that I currently use for my business. I print a lot. I may also have a bit of an obsession with printers and learning about them. Pics of my printers below.
- Current Printers:
- 2 Sawgrass SG400s
- Sawgrass SG800
- Epson SC F170 — since 2-2021
- Converted ET-2803 — new for 2022
- Converted Epson EcoTank 15000 — still need to be set up
- 2nd Epson SC F170 — still needs to be set up
- Just retired:
- Converted Epson Artisan 1430 — retired as of 4-2022.
- 3 Sawgrass SG400s — just retired as of 5-2022.
- Current Printers:
- I’m waiting for my older printers to stop working so I can buy an Epson F570. I would buy it now but I really don’t have the space!
- A major pet peeve: businesses who infringe on trademarks and copyrights! I see so many businesses who violate Disney, LV, Chanel, NFL, and other brands’ trademarks. They sublimate these on their blanks and sell them to others. This is not a sustainable business; they will always be known to be the source for fakes and inauthentic items.
- Another pet peeve: designers and sellers who think they are legally cleared from misconduct since they bought or drew their own “rendition” of a trademarked/copyrighted item. (i.e. inspired designs). Nope, that’s not how it works.
- I hold a couple of U.S. Registered Trademarks and several registered copyrights on my designs and images. I do my due diligence on researching designs before putting it out in public as I respect others’ intellectual property. I have no problems with being legally aggressive with protecting my trademarks and copyrights.
- I like photography. For my business, I prefer to shoot pics using my Canon with a Sigma 30mm, F1.4mm lens, in a manual setting, then editing those raw images. But I’m constantly surprised at the newer phone cameras’ capabilities.
- Before I had kids, I used to do a lot of rock climbing (outdoor trad climbing, not sport or gym). Now that I have kids, I don’t climb because I think about the consequences of getting hurt while climbing.
- The highest climb I’ve ever done in one day was 800 feet in Yosemite. I was never interested in multi-day climbs because sleeping while hanging on the side of the rock, hundreds of feet up in the air, wasn’t something that appealed to me.
- The scariest movie I’ve ever seen was the Blair Witch Project when it first came out. My goal is to watch it again while camping. I can’t seem to get the courage to try it though.
- I’m a Generation X.
- Favorite genre of music: 90s Alternative Rock. I can’t believe that’s considered “classic” now. Sigh.
- I love going to concerts. The most memorable one was U2’s Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Concert in 2017. Yes I’m old but I prefer to call myself “finely aged”.
- I am capable of building my own PCs from scratch. I built my previous ones, build them for friends, and even guided my son to build his first gaming PC. But I prefer Apple and Macs over PCs and that’s all I use for designing and for my sublimation business.
- I’m not really into social media. I only do it for business purposes.
- Someday, I want to compete in “The Amazing Race”.
- Favorite shows I recently binged watched: Yellowstone, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and Animal Kingdom. I hate it when a favorite series ends.
- Shows I have running in the background while I work on my sublimation business: Shark Tank, Schitt’s Creek, Grey’s Anatomy, Documentaries.
